Genovese sauce

I am gona make basil paste.
Olive oil. Parmesan Cheeze, Garlic, Fresh Basil and walnuts.
According to recepies for Genovese sauce, pine nuts are used instead of walnuts.
But since pine nuts is very expensive in Japan, I used walnut. instead.

Persimmon

Here it is.
Very sweet and jucy.

:-)~

Letter from autumn "Persimmon" (Kaki)

We got a persimmon from one of graduates of Ainou high school which is locating in a same lot of our office.
He got this from his old classmate.
These are very beautiful and tasty but can't sell to markets since it has scars or the size is out of standard.

Today it was really autumn fine day with clear light blue sky in high place.

Yes!!! my first Karekare in Japan!

And.... Karekare!
I cooked it with Knorr Karekare mix that Lany brought me when she came to Japan.
For all of my friends this was the first experience to taste it.
The real one is cooked with ox tail, but since its not available in super market around here, I used chicken instead.
Everyone like it.
Next time I will cook Mongo Soup with the mongo beans brought by Jun.
Also late comer brought two dishes, Pasta with basil and garlic and beans noodle salad with chinese sauce. :-)~ Posted by Picasa

Pot luck party

We often have pot luck party with girls living around here.
Bringing one dish with one person can make our dinner real rich one with women's talk.
Today's menu in the end (No one knows what will be on the table untill we see each other)
was gingar rice, tofu salad, beans soup, potato onion stew with tuna,,,, and there are some more... Posted by Picasa

Full bloom!!

This is how Kangkong flower looks like with its full bloom.
Really elegant and cute.
According to Jun, they are just growing in swamps or canals in rural areas of the Pilippines. Thinking of it, its amaging that they can have this tiny beautiful flower out of these muddy dirty (I guess swamps in the Phil most likely dirty) grounds.
It must give a lot of comfort to people living around there.
Another 5 buds are now waiting to be bloomed.
And now, roots are growing out of its stem.
Amagingly strong vegetable! Posted by Picasa
